Hello again and Merry meet
I have recently enrolled in a online Pagan school called The Magical Circle School. It's a free online school centered around many different pagan religions, unlike many other online schools it does not center around one single belief system but in fact incorporates many of the different types of paganism out there. I've always been into mythology and cultural beliefs which is probably why I'm an eclectic pagan. You can only take three courses at one time. The school is very easy to enroll in any has many different courses from God and goddess studies to divination, Path working such as Celtic, Cottage, Dianic, Faery, Hedge, Shamanism and Kitchen. They also have Witchy arts and crafts, dreamscaping, Healing, herbology, a degree program and even a witchling course for ages 2 to 16. Many of the courses are very self reliant. You can go as fast or as slow as you need
I decided to go with the gods course first I am currently taking Roman and Greek gods 101, Celtic gods and Native American gods. The school is very laid back with very little time constraints on the lessons allowing you to take it at your own pace, the only time constraints is that you have to at least complete one lesson each month. In my Roman and Greek gods first lesson was Jupiter the Roman king of the gods the lesson consist of four parts first we researched Jupiter, the teacher supplies a small bit of information about the God but it's your job to find out as much as you possible can using books, Internet or any other way you can find information. After that she asks you to write a paragraph about the God himself as well as a paragraph of how you can bring him into your life and last but not least in the first part to compose a prayer, meditation or chant to or about the God. The third part is to create a project about this God whether it be in offering or a statue something that represents him I did a Traditional offering that they did back in ancient times of roasted beef skews over lentils with a goblet of red wine. And then the fourth part is simply sending them a picture of your representation or project. The number of lessons very from course to course. I feel very excited about these courses and can't wait to finish the ones I'm in now that I can start my next three. I'm thinking that's maybe I'll do astrology or tarot or maybe learn more about gemstones metals and crystals. I never know what I'm really going to be interested in at that time. I'll just have to wait and see.
May blessings be upon you
Lily
Hello! i just joined, i couldnt imagine taking more than one class at a time, i like to write everything down, im going to take intro courses and stuff (i need a refresher!) and the other courses required to take the Degree programs =) i hope you enjoy your journey as much as i know i will enjoy mine!
ReplyDeleteI just joined myself, alas I'm still working through the Entrance Exam. It is a lot of work to get through, but my thoughts are if they push you this hard to know how to get around and to get to know the school inside and out, they will be equally as diligent through the other courses. I do look forward to learning the introductory courses first and expanding from there.
ReplyDeleteI love that this school expects quality work from their students. I love that it's free. I'm struggling with the negativity in the Hall Pass class. There is no need to air dirty laundry. It's such a huge disappointment. I was hoping for a more professional and mature learning environment.
ReplyDeleteThe FMC is not negativity or airing of dirty laundry, it is explaining how we deal with those who come in with a negative attitude. We try to keep a good sense of humor about things, which is difficult when being attacked and treated rudely, considering we are doing all of this work for free.
DeleteIt also helps students who have those same concerns that are voiced in the FMC to get a better understanding of what is going on and why we do things the way that we do.
http://grannyreviews.blogspot.com/2015/11/i-highly-recommend-this-school-if-this.html I'm a huge fan of negative learning environments. It makes your heart grow bitter, which of course, only makes you stronger.
ReplyDeleteWe strive to have a positive learning environment. I am sad to hear that you like having a bitter heart.

ReplyDeletethis is seriously the page of the entrance exam that made me go....wtf am i reading this for. Poor woman actually felt the need to post all of this and FORCE us to read it? Petty and sad. and her attitude!! "well then just don't log in. come or don't. whatever. i don't care" ...why would you put so much time and effort in to creating a school and maintaining a website if you don't care about student concerns? She says she wants to hold people accountable just like a real school but last i checked school administrations cared about student feedback?!
DeleteMs Criswell stepped down in February of this year. We wish her the best and she remains in my prayers.
DeleteThe school now belongs to the teachers, there are 4 of us, and it is being reorganized and rewritten. To those who had a bad experience we apologize and invite you to try us again when we are up and running and taking on new students. There is still the entrance exam but it has been altered to be more positive and is much shorter. It has also been divided into three sections and in each section you meet a different teacher. The first is Laura or Dani, the second is Savannah and Jenifer has the third and final part. That part of the orientation you complain about has been deleted completely.
The fact that the "High Priestess" (in quotes because after doing intensive research, it turns out she is a fraud) of this school stepped down is music to my ears. I left this school 4 years ago because she sent me harassing and bullying emails even after I left. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
ReplyDeleteI left after a week or so into the entrance exam about 8 months ago.The amount of hoops to jump through was ridiculous. While I have no plans to return, I am glad to see that Ms. Criswell is gone. She seems a very nasty, controlling, unhappy woman. Glad to hear that people can actually learn now in a positive environment
ReplyDeleteLets put a bit of positivity back into to this. I recently joined the school an have found it to be nothing but open and supportive. I will continue to support the school and teachers going forward and whole heartedly thank them for their time and efforts which I may add is done for absolutley free!
ReplyDeleteI enrolled into this school about 3 months ago and I'm working on the Orientation classes. From what I have seen, everything about this school is amazing. Not only is it free but it is really helping me find my purpose in life.
ReplyDeletethe school to me is ok i feel some of the intese and time consuming assignments are ridiculous. like for instance Correspondence of Spellcrafting 101 the section on gems requires you to write 6 or 7 essays just to get passed that section. i understand they want to be thorough but we arent in college that we have to write extreme amounts of essays and research papers oh and dont ever direct quote cuz yhou will be reprimanded and put on watch even if sourced and direct quoted
